Finding places…

Cuba, place by place

The map above is the same record the rest of CubaAtlas is built on: 1,608 places across 16 provinces, 15 airports with scheduled service, plus restaurants, places to stay and everyday essentials drawn live from OpenStreetMap once you zoom into a street. Pan it, switch layers, and anything you like goes straight into your trip without leaving the map.

Live layers

Live mode shows recorded earthquakes (USGS), active tropical systems (NOAA National Hurricane Center) and recent wildlife observations (iNaturalist). These are observations and detections — an earthquake marker is not a damage report, and a wildlife pin is not proof the species is there now. When a feed returns nothing, the layer is empty rather than filled in.

Sources and freshness

Basemap from OpenStreetMap via OpenMapTiles and OpenFreeMap; satellite imagery from Esri. Places come from the CubaAtlas atlas record and from OpenStreetMap for on-the-ground detail, each marker carrying its own source and the date it was last checked. We show no opening hours, phone number or price we cannot attribute.
